General Guidelines
General Guidelines
To be selected, the student must meet certain requirements established between the Board of Selection of the community college.
The qualified student must be US citizen or hold a permanent Resident Card.
It is not the intent of the Trustees to predicate a scholarship award upon a student’s financial need, and the Board of Selection is free to give any consideration to the student’s finances that it feels is consistent with the Foundation’s stated intent.
Overview of Selection Guidelines
To ensure fairness and integrity, scholarship recipients are chosen based on standards mutually established by the Board of Selection and the faculty of the participating community colleges. These guidelines help maintain transparency and uphold the Foundation’s commitment to academic excellence.
Citizenship & Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for consideration, the student must meet one of the following criteria:
- Be a United States Citizen, or
- Hold a Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
These requirements ensure that scholarship opportunities are awarded in accordance with federal and institutional guidelines.
Consideration of Financial Need
While applicants may have varying financial backgrounds, it is not the intent of the Trustees to base scholarship awards solely on financial need.
- Financial status may be reviewed by the Board of Selection.
- However, financial need will not be the determining factor in awarding the scholarship.
- The Board maintains full discretion to consider finances only when it aligns with the Foundation’s stated mission and intent.
